Editor's Note: Paper, Paper, Everwhere! I don't know about you, but I hate the idea of spending upwards of $5.00 for a simple card especially since creating beautiful cards can so easy. Get out your construction paper, cardstock and vellium. This week we've added a couple of great card making ideas that you can try at home. Also, I've answered a few questions from subscribers about scrapbooking.

Project Idea: Crystal Ball Card

Look into your future with these whimsical crystal ball cards. You simply need some colored cardstock and a handpunch. We used a flowered hand punch but you can use whatever you have on hand. An alternative idea would be to use a snowflake hand punch and turn it into a snowglobe.

All you need are the following supplies:
Colored Card Stock
Decorative Hand Punch (We used a flower hand punch)
A Circle Cutter or a Round Glass or Can (To trace around for the globe)
Scissors
Ruler
Glue Stick

Tips & Tricks: Scrapbooking FAQ

I've seen great pages that use torn paper but I can never get a nice decorative tear. Is there any way to make it easier?
Yes, there is. Try dipping a paintbrush in water and running it along your paper where you'd like it be torn. The paper will tear with ease.

I'm always afraid of cropping my photos for fear that I'll ruin them. What can I do about this?
If you're using a one of a kind photo that you'd be devastated to lose, always get a copy before you use it in your scrapbooking. Also, practice cropping photos with photos that you already have extras or with those that aren't of the best quality. You'll get the hang of it in no time. In addition, when you go about cropping photos you may want to leave in things that future generations might be interested in such as houses or cars. When in doubt, don't crop!

I've seen some gorgeous vellum papers in the craft stores. What can I use them for?
Vellum is perfect for items that are translucent in real life such as water, clouds, and balloons. Vellum can also be used to soften a very bold background paper.

Other Tips
* Die cuts make great journaling templates.

* The internet is a great source for scrapbooking. You can search online for poems and quotes to use on your pages.

* Don't throw out your scraps. They can be used later for punches and piecing.

* Photos should always be the focus of your pages. Don't use so many embellishments that your photos are overwhelmed.
