Rolled Paper Beads

Paper beads are a great way to use up left over scrapbooking paper. Any kind of scrap paper will work! This project is easy enough for kids of all ages to make unique jewelry.

Supply List

  • Scrap Paper (We used the images from an old calendar)
  • String or Yarn

  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil

  1. Use your rules and scissors to cut long triangles from your scrap paper. Cut as many triangles as the number of beads that you would like to make.

  2. Starting with the bottom of a triangle, begin to roll the triangle around a pencil. Dab a bit of glue to get it to stick.
  3. Continue rolling the triangle around the pencil until you reach the end. Dab another bit of glue to glue the end down. Hold the bead for a few seconds to be sure that it stays.
  4. Slide the bead off the pencil. Continue these steps to create each bead.
  5. Thread the beads on a length of string or yarn to create a necklace.
