Terra Cotta Flower Pot Candles

Terra cotta flower pots can create perfect candle containers. They are inexpensive and can be decorated to fit any motif. There are only a few extra steps that you'll need to do before you can pour wax into these pots as you would any other container candle.

Supply List
  • Terra cotta flower pot
  • Pre-blended container candle wax
  • Candle fragrance (if desired)
  • Pre-tabbed wick
  • Mod-Podge
  • Putty or silicone (Fish Tank Caulk works well!)

  • Double boiler
  • Sponge brush
    •

    Instructions
    1. Use your sponge brush to coat the inside of your clay pot with a layer of Mod-Podge. Repeat this step several times until you get a nice glossy finish. This step is a safety pre-caution so that when you go to burn your candle, the clay pot doesn't become a fire hazard. Do not skip this step!!
    2. Use the silicone or putty to plug the drainage hole at the bottom of your clay pot. You will want to seal the hole well to prevent wax leakage.
    3. You may now prepare and pour your wax as described in the container candle directions.
