Butterfly Gift Box

This craft makes a perfect gift box for small goodies or can be given as a wonderful gift all by itself.

Supply List

  • Small paper mache box
  • Small sponge
  • White paint
  • 1 foot length of ribbon
  • 1 piece of plastic cross stitch canvas
  • DMC floss
  • Decorative charm

Equipment

  • Hot glue gun

Instructions

  1. Cross stitch butterfly according to pattern. Click here to download the pattern. Click here to download the pattern key.
  2. Carefully cut around the plastic canvas one space away from the edge of the cross stitch design
  3. Paint box – Use sponge to gently dab white paint covering the entire outside of the paper mache box. This will create a nice cloud-like affect. Let dry completely.
  4. Create a bow with the length of ribbon and use hot glue gun to affix to box.
  5. Center the butterfly within the bow and affixed with the hot glue gun.
